Kenneth “Willie” Wayne Williamson, 80 of Ore City, passed away on May 1, 2024 at his home. Kenneth was born July 16, 1943, to Odell Williamson and Ida Mae Williamson-Atkinson. In1963, he met his wife, Linda Sue Williamson, and they married on July 3, 1964. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle (Uncle Poodle).
Kenneth was self-employed, working as a trucker, mechanic, and logger throughout his life. He moved his family to Ore City in 1974 where he spent his free time with his family boating, dirt track racing, and enjoying his family. Once retired, Kenneth enjoyed entertaining at local events and local retirement homes as a Willie Nelson impersonator singing Karaoke to Willie Nelson’s songs. Anytime there was a family event, you knew Willie would make an appearance.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dugan Williamson and his wife Beverly Griffith-Williamson, Charles Williamson and his wife Joyce Williamson, Father and Mother-in-law, Boots and Laura Joe Weinzettle, bothers-in-laws, Larry Weinzettle, Danny Weinzettle, and Pete Weinzettle.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Sue Williamson, daughter Lisa and Glen Brasher of Texas City, Texas; son Roger and KC Williamson of Ore City, Texas; he is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother Howard and Noreen Atkinson of Bryan, sisters, Bobbie Ann Urich of Anderson, Sandra Ann Hill of Deer Park, Florence Lee Sanders of New Braunfels, Doris and husband Robert Willis of Bryan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 12:30 – 2:30 a.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Diane, Texas. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Ore City Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Williamson, Ethan Williamson, Josiah Topp, Glen Brasher, Perry Williamson, and Danny Weinzettle.
It is requested that everyone please wear their favorite "Willie" Nelson shirt or attire.
