Obituary of Kenny Chien
May 29, 2024
Kenny Chien, age 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born July 20th, 1961 in Hong Kong to Tsai Liang Chien and Oi-Lin Wong. After immigrating to the US at age 14, his diligent work ethic allowed him to graduate from University of Buffalo-the school where he met his wife, Lisa Oh-Chien-with two BS degrees in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering. He married Lisa on October 12th, 1997 and moved to Manhattan. Their daughter, Maya, was born on April 24th, 2003.
Kenny loved music, traveling, running and biking, walking his dog, and always eating good food. Even during his years-long battle with cancer, Kenny always remained the positive and witty person that his loved ones knew him to be. He will be remembered as a musician, an artist, an athlete, a Chinatown-frequenter, a husband, and a father. His presence made the lives of everyone he knew brighter, and he will be deeply missed.
Viewing from 2pm-4pm, Service from 4pm-6pm
