Kenny Thomas Obituary

Kenny built a successful career in the automobile industry, beginning in the 1970s with Hull-Dobbs in Memphis, TN. In 1980, he joined Southeast Toyota, where he worked until 1994. That same year, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a dealership, a venture that brought him immense pride and joy.
Even in retirement, Kenny remained a daily presence at the dealership-not just for his love of the business, but because he cherished the time spent with his sons and grandson. Beyond his career, Kenny was an avid sports fan who rarely missed a Kansas City Chiefs or KU
basketball game. He found great joy in attending sporting events and supporting the teams he loved.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at Shadow Glen Country Club from to p.m. on Tuesday, April 8th.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Safehome, a cause Kenny supported for many years.

I will never forget starting my first job as a porter at Kenny Thomas Olathe Toyota in the spring of 2002. Kenny`s youngest son Beau Thomas and I were both in high school at the time, and I will never forget the great times shared at the dealership. Whether it be a staff meeting around a big meal, Christmas parties, and the occasional mentoring "father-son" conversation from Kenny, Kelly, or both - Kenny was always there.
I worked at the Toyota for approximately nine years before going onto KSU. Since then, my love for the automotive industry has only gotten stronger. Looking back, I will always remember my roots working in a single wash-bay at Olathe Toyota and hearing "Porter to the showroom floor for delivery" across a Nextel or Kenny would come back during the busy sales events, checking to see if we needed a hand.as the hands-on owner that he was. And that was one of the things I admired about him was his hands-on approach to business.
My deepest sympathies go out to all the family and friends, I´m sure my mother has already signed him up for the Chamber of Commerce in Heaven.
