Kent Lamers, 57, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away on October 16, 2025.

Kent was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Ken and Mary Lamers. Throughout his youth, he enjoyed watching and participating in sports and playing several instruments including guitar and saxophone. He grew into a gifted artist and musician. Highly intelligent and self-taught in many disciplines, Kent earned his degree in Computer Science and pursued projects in hardware and software development, bringing imagination and ingenuity to everything he did.

Kent faced extraordinary challenges after a car accident at age 21 left him a quadriplegic. Yet through it all, he lived with remarkable courage, strength, and quiet dignity. He never complained about his circumstances, even as life became increasingly difficult. His resilience and grace in the face of hardship inspired everyone who knew him.

To his family, Kent was so much more than his condition-he was beloved, steadfast, and strong. To his brothers, he was always "Wimpy," though there was nothing wimpy about him in spirit or will. His humor, strength, and gentle heart left an indelible mark on those who loved him.

Kent is survived by his siblings Shell (Leland) Redfern, Mark (Linda) Lamers, Michael Paul, Marty Lamers, and Kevin (Angi) Lamers. He deeply loved his nieces and nephews-Ananda (Noah) Warrick, Jenny (Toby) Simmons, Zach Lamers, Tom (Sydney) Lamers, Macy Lamers, Sawyer Lamers, and Emme Lamers-who will forever cherish his warmth, creativity, and generosity of spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Mary Lamers. Kent lived a life that embodied quiet strength and hard-earned dignity. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family takes comfort in knowing he is finally free of the burdens he carried so bravely for so long.

A Celebration of Life will be held soon, with details to be shared with family and friends.
