Kent Romine

ROMINE, Kent Kent Romine, passed away of natural causes in his home in Mesa, AZ on April 8, 2009. He was the only son and offspring of Joan Romine of Chandler and the late Doyle Romine who preceded him in death in June 2007. Kent was born May 6, 1959 at Ft. Morgan, CO and lived there until 1965 when the family moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he was active in his church and the Boy Scouts of America. He and his father developed a talent for building race cars for the Pine- wood Derby Event each year. He excelled in school and on the Junior High swim team as well as participating in music having taken piano lessons early. When Kent was twelve the family moved to Chandler on horse property and he bought his first horse, Shandy. When he turned 16, the horse was immediately traded for another type of horsepower, his first car. He graduated from Chandler High School in 1977. Throughout high school and years to follow he had a desire for the outdoors. In recent years his occupation turned to driving heavy trucks, mechanics, welding and most recently internet sales. His favorite vacation place was southwestern Colorado along the Dolores River up to Telluride and also the Durango area. Kent will be remembered for his sense of humor and deep loyalty to his friends and family. He is survived by his mother Joan, uncles and aunts, Joy and Wayne McDermed of Chandler, Elvin Moss of Greeley CO, Vesta Boulter of Tucson, Dorothy McDermed of Greeley, CO and several cousins in Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Oregon. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday April 16 at the LDS McQueen 1st Ward building, 17817 S. McQueen Rd, Chandler with visitation 1 hour prior at 9:00 a.m.. Final resting place will be in Platteville, CO. Contributions may be made to one of Kent's favorite charities, AZ Special Olympics, 1850 N.
