Norma Jean Romine

Norma Jean Burgeson Romine was born into this world in Gary Indiana, Nov 4, 1938, and departed Feb 14, 2026 in Fresno California.

She had been a resident of Madera California for 50 years. She was the first child born to Anna and Lage Burgeson, both of whom were from Sweden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Christina, her son Wes, and her husband of 57 years, Jon.

She is survived by her brother Harold Burgeson and his wife Judith, her son Carl Romine and his wife Taylor, her daughter Connie Lienau and her husband Jason, her son Joe Romine and his wife Jennifer. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Augustana College in Illinois and was a speech teacher by training. She was a homemaker by choice and raised 4 children. Norma loved sewing, quilting, singing, plants, and her friends and family. Norma was a faithful member of the Clovis Church of Christ. She was active in several service organizations in Madera and participated and competed for several year in the Fresno Chapter of Sweet Adelines. Norma lived for 87 years and had a long and full life. She left an impression on everyone she met and will be missed by those who knew her best.
