Kenyatta Tralese Harden, of Wichita, KS passed away November 29, 2024 at her home in Wichita.
Kenyatta was born in McPherson, Kansas on January 7, 1991, the daughter of Roy and Lena Mae (Williams) Harden.
She attended Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Middle School and graduated from McPherson High School in 2009. She then attended McPherson College where she received her double bachelor's degree in Performing and Theater Arts in 2013.
She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in McPherson.
Kenyatta worked as a CNA at Angel Arms in McPherson during high school and then worked for Multi Community Diversified Services throughout her years at McPherson College. She was a Nation Deputy Training Director at Revolution Field Strategies/Shawmutt Services of Boston, MA. She was involved in theater and high school, performing and a variety of shows throughout her stage career. Over the years she worked at the Rainbow Theater Group in New York, Orpheum Theater in Wichita, McPherson College as Admissions Counselor and First Bank in Hutchinson. She also taught piano and vocal lessons at the Wichita Community Center.
Kenyatta enjoyed playing piano in her church, painting, planning a variety of social events and outings and taking photographs of her nieces. She was involved in theater in high school and variety shows in college. She played several instruments and was in the high school marching band. Kenyatta enjoyed traveling, watching her nieces competing in gymnastics and participating in the various activities. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, which she loved and protected.
She is survived by her parents, Roy Harden and Lena Harden; sister, Sasha Kunc; and nieces, Jossalyn and Isabella Kunc, all of McPherson; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nathaniel and Lizzie Harden, and Ernest and Lena Williams.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at McPherson Church of the Brethren.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at McPherson Church of the Brethren with Pastors James A. Hollis, Zach Fleming officiating. The service can be viewed at https://youtube.com/live/FRQudGZCWnI?feature=share
The family would like folks to wear bright colors on the 19th for the funeral, in Kenyatta's memory.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kenyatta Harden Memorial Fund and they can be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home; 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS. 67460..

Kenyatta was an amazing teacher. She loved music and sharing her God given talent with her students at the Rec. Center. She will be greatly missed. She truly had an amazing presence. Prayers for the family!
