Kerby Lund, 56, a life-long resident of the Brandon-Evansville area was called home by his Heavenly Father on July 7, 2024. Kerby was born on March 4, 1968 to Reece and Mary Lund in Alexandria, MN. He was raised on the family farm, where his passion for farming originated. Kerby spent his time growing up helping his parents on the farm, partaking in sports, and hanging out with friends. Kerby graduated from Evansville High School in 1986 and was outstanding in football, basketball, and baseball.
On July 21, 1995 he was united in marriage to Stephanie Olson and four beautiful children were born from this union: Kannen, Kennedy, Kerryn, and Kiley.
Kerby loved many things: his family and friends, farming, pontoon rides, deer hunting, cruising in the mustang, his cats, the warm weather in Belize, and lending a helping hand.
He faithfully attended his children’s athletic events and served on several boards – ProAg, Douglas County Corn and Soybean Growers Association, and Chippewa Lutheran Church. At the time of his passing, Kerby was the Chairman of the Brandon Township Board.
Kerby worked side by side with his parents and son farming the land he loved. Kerby and his family were named the Douglas County farm family of the year in 2020 and he also received an award from the Douglas County Soil and Water Conservation District for conservation practices he used on his land.
Kerby is survived by his wife, Stephanie; son, Kannen; daughters, Kennedy (Jake Nohre), Kerryn, and Kiley; his parents, Reece and Mary; sister, Wendy; Larry Lund, who was like a brother; nephew, Dylan; niece, Ava; in-laws, Steve and Cathy Olson, Jon and Ashley Marquette; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
