Kermit E. Anderson, 64, of Middlesex Township, Carlisle, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. He was born February 5, 1945, in New Kingstown, PA, the son of the late George and Helen (Witter) Anderson. Kermit retired after 361/2 years with Embarq Corporation. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Shiremanstown and the National American Legion. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served on the school board at Christian School of York in York, PA. Kermit is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Cherlyn "Sherry" L. (Cole) Anderson; three sons, Jonathan and his wife Wendy of Carlisle, Timothy and his wife Amanda of Camp Hill, Thomas of Carlisle; one daughter, Tammy Brown and her husband Rick of York; two brothers, Wayne of Milesburg and Kenneth of New Kingstown; six sisters, Martha Crumlich of Mechanicsburg, Louise Gossage of Mechanicsburg, Georg Etta Anderson of Gardners, Nancy Kline of Mechanicsburg, Abigail Freeburn of Camp Hill and Naomi Anderson of Carlisle. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jordan, Kaitlynne, and Jaden. Services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at 11:00 am in Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Rd., Camp Hill with the Rev. J. Ronald Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 7-9 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg and on Wednesday from 10-11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crossings Hospice of the VNA of Central PA, 3315 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
