Kermit Perkins Obituary

Kermit was born September 15, 1935, in Corydon, IA to Hollis and Orville Perkins.
Kermit was a workaholic that rarely sat still. He was a carpenter, mechanic, and worked many years at UPS, Schneider Trucking, and Newbury Management Co. He also owned his own cleaning/maintenance business for many years. Kermit was always willing to help his loved ones at the drop of a hat. He enjoyed classic cars and car shows and loved DJing at those in his spare time. In his later years he found great joy hanging out with his "best friend", his dog Jake. He will be greatly missed by all his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Sharon; his children, Scott (Carol) Breon, Tim (Stacey) Breon, Shelly (Brian) Thomas, and Larissa (Tony) Spaulding; stepchildren, Robert, Linda, Paul, and Theresa; grandchildren Addy, Tyler, Hailee, Emma, Landon, Cord, Brylee, Kroy, Tia, Tad, Tye, Tanner, Noah, and Kali; step grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Dorothy, and a twin brother Kenneth.
A memorial services will be held August 9th at the Basilica of St John, 1915 University Ave, Des Moines, IA at noon. The family will greet friends from 11:00-11:50 at the church.

We went to a lot of classic car shows and cruise-ins. This is where we met Kermit. He also DJ´ed every week at Bennigans and Cozy Cafe to name a couple. We enjoyed his rock-and-roll music. We are so glad we had the opportunity to know Kermit. He was a good friend and would do anything for you. We will miss him!

Kermit and I are first cousins. Although I had not seen him in a few years, I thought of him fondly. When I was a kid, he always teased my cousin Linda and me. Many thoughts and prayers of sympathy for his family. Here is a picture of some of his other first cousins at a recent family reunion.
