Mrs. Kerri Shelby Rainey, age 62, of Nolensville, TN departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.  She was the daughter of Billy C. Shelby and the late Patricia Ann Shelby.

She was a graduate of Methodist School of Nursing and a Registered Nurse where she practiced pediatric medicine.

 

She married Jeffrey W. Rainey on January 7, 1984. On top of raising their three children and spending time with their grandchildren, they spent their time together cruising the oceans and relaxing on the beaches of the Southern and Eastern Caribbean.

 

In addition to her husband of 39 years, she is survived by her three children, Ashley Rainey Patrick (Jonathon) of Somerville, TN, Nicholas Blake Rainey of Knoxville, TN, and Courtney Rainey Cole (Nathan) of Columbia, TN; four grandchildren, Raylan and Henry Patrick, and Juliana and Bradley Cole.

 

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one sister, Melinda Shelby, and her stepmother, Wanda Hendrix Smalley Shelby.

 

She was loved by many and lit up a room with her infectious smile and quirky personality. She will be dearly missed.

 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10 am until 2 pm in the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar, TN with a private burial following in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Road, Cordova, TN  38018.
