Kerry Denton Godard

Mr. Kerry Denton Godard, 73, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

Born in Griffin on July 10, 1952, Kerry was the son of the late Marion and Frances Smith Godard. A graduate of the University of West Georgia, he returned to his hometown to work alongside his parents at the family business, Godard's Clothing. For many years, the store was a cornerstone of downtown Griffin and a place where Kerry built lasting friendships with customers and neighbors alike.

A caring and quiet man, Kerry was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his devotion to his loved ones, his easy sense of humor, and his deep love for his community. His greatest joy was time spent with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Johnston Godard; daughters, Sydney Godard Armistead (Walker) and Mary Kate Godard; grandchildren, Blythe Armistead and Walker Armistead, Jr.; sister, Fay Godard Cobb; nieces, Kellie Cook (Mike) and Laura Beaber (Gene); great-nieces, Carson Cook and Macie Beaber; as well as several cousins and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Griffin. A memorial service celebrating Kerry's life will follow in the sanctuary.
