Kessler Robert Thomas Brockman, 23, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on October 12, 2025, at Truman Medical Center, following injuries sustained in a work-related accident.
Kessler was a skilled and dedicated tree trimmer, proud of his craft and respected by all who worked alongside him. His remarkable sense of humor, infectious smile, and uplifting spirit brought joy to every person he met.
A true outdoorsman, Kessler loved nature in all its forms. He was an avid fisherman and a passionate snake enthusiast. He spent his free time landscaping, improving his home and shop, and helping friends and family with any project that needed a hand. In recent years, Kessler found deep meaning and peace in his faith, studying and sharing God's word with others. He lived simply, loved deeply, and aspired to a quiet, humble life.
Kessler is survived by his parents, Chris and Tracy Brock of Kansas City, MO; siblings Kagen Sterling Brockman of Excelsior Springs, MO; Sydney Paige Brockman of Atlanta, GA; Christopher Alan Brock II and his wife Ashanti of Platte City, MO; and Alli Cameron Strehlow and her husband Grant of Kansas City, MO.
He is also survived by grandparents Jane Evans (Lawson, MO), Robert Cave (Excelsior Springs, MO), and Dallas and Vicki Brock (Kearney, MO); birth father Eric Brockman (Moberly, MO); aunts and uncles Tammy Dolt (Kansas City, MO), Terri and Rodney Mellon (Polo, MO), Kelly and Bryan Briggs (Richmond, VA), Tony Brock (Nixa, MO), Scott Baker (Independence, MO), and Elizabeth and Willard Ingersoll (Moberly, MO); cousins Alex (Paige), Adam (Emilly), Madison, Braxton Mellon, Harper and Zane Dolt, Ben, Beau, Isla Jane, Kayce Mellon, Skyler Ingersoll, Valen Bowen, Oliver Smith, Trinity (Caden) Ryals, Gracey, Destiny, and Brayden Briggs, Amanda and Haley Ingersoll; nieces and nephews Brantley, Cash, and Aubrey Brockman.
He was preceded in death by grandparents George Thomas and Ila Dean Brockman (Moberly, MO).
Kessler attended Excelsior Springs schools and Park Hill South High School, where he made many lifelong friends. After graduation, he worked with By the Blade Landscaping in Parkville, MO, and later at Hy-Vee on 64th Street, where he held several positions including Aisles Online during the pandemic and Backroom Manager. For the past four years, Kessler was a proud member of the Asplundh team as a Journeyman Line Clearance Tree Trimmer, expertly and safely managing the challenges of his profession.
He loved his white Chevy Silverado truck and could often be found tinkering with it or driving to his next outdoor adventure.
Kessler's final act was one of extraordinary generosity - through organ donation, he gave the gift of life to three people. His family was blessed to be by his side until his very last breath, honored to witness his incredible strength and grace.
Kessler will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, faith, and the light he brought to those around him. His legacy of love and service will live on in all who knew him.
