Park Lawn Funeral Home - Liberty-Northland ChapelMs. Carol Mary Johnston (Brychell), 67, died peacefully on October 19, 2025. Carol was born December 16, 1957 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Stephen and Eileen Brychell (Weber). After marriage, Carol moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she owned and operated her own daycare and worked as a special needs teacher's assistant at the local elementary school. Carol was a loving mother and grandmother, her favorite titles were Mom and Grandma J. Carol's children remember her as a gentle soul and dedicated caregiver. She was generous to a fault and adopted any kid around her, as her own. Carol enjoyed a quite walk in nature and anything to do with crafting.Carol is proceeded in death by her parents, Stephen and Eileen Brychell (Weber) and Richard (Dick) Brychell, Valparaiso Indiana.Carol is survived by her children Bobby (Kat) Johnston and Greg (Rachel) Johnston. Her grandchildren, Ryan, Carter, Ryder and Kinley. Her siblings: Judy (Ed), Diane (Roy), Larry, Annette (Dennis), Mary, Joe (Jullie) and Susan. She had many nieces and nephews that she adored, as well.
Her funeral will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, at 1640 N State Route 291 Highway, Liberty, MO 64068 on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Visitation begins at 10 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 am. All are welcome to attend.
Carol's ashes will be spread at Powell Gardens in the Spring of 2026.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to our local homeless outreach- A Turning Point KC (not affiliated with Turning Point USA) https://www.aturningpointkc.org/donate
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of New Mark Rehab and Healthcare Center. Carol was cherished by all who cared for her and we are deeply grateful for their love and kindness.
