Sandra Kay Klemp, 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on October 21, 2025.
Sandra, or Sandy as she was known, was born to Melvin and Antha Baucom on December 18, 1941 in Jackson County, Missouri and spent most of her life living in the Kansas City area.
Sandy dedicated many years to Southwestern Bell, where she held several key roles including secretary, frame attendant, test board for Gladstone, and communications technician with special services. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned her the respect of her colleagues throughout her long career, which she retired in 1997.
Outside of work, Sandy found great joy in the beauty and tranquility of nature. She admired flower gardens and the many birds that visited her yard. She was also an exceptional cook, known for her famous tacos, comforting chicken noodle soup, and her much-anticipated Christmas morning biscuits and gravy. Above all, Sandy treasured her family and friends and the time spent together.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Klemp; sons, Douglas and Chris Marx; and brother, Ronald Baucom.
She is fondly remembered and greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Karen Marx; grandchildren, Felicia Fulton (Lucas), Leah Stafford (Paul), Nicole Rice (Charlie); and four great grandchildren, Paisley, Piper, Ellie, and Clara; and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel on Monday, October 27th, with visitation beginning at 10:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:30am. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Kansas City ,MO.
