Kevin Ealy Alexander (Lil' Kevin) was born to Kevin Monkeith Alexander and Tamara Evette Proctor on January 22, 2001, in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Kevin was everybody's baby! He loved playing with cars as a young child and had an extensive toy car collection because every time he went to the store with anybody, he came out with a car. This is where his love for cars began. He was a mechanic and fixed cars, but he was more intrigued by production and manufacturing and could talk for hours about how cars were built and designed. He had dreams to pursue a career as a diesel mechanic and was in the process of getting his passport so he could travel the world.
Kevin had an infectious smile and he never met a stranger.
In 2008, Tammy and the kids relocated to Mexia and Kevin attended Mexia ISD schools from the first grade up. On September 26, 2023, Kevin earned his Graduate Equivalency Diploma! This is one of HIS proudest moments. He did it when he was ready. If you know Kevin, then you know that's how he lived life He did it his way.
Kevin accepted Christ at an early age at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Mexia, TX under the leadership of Pastor Robert Campbell. Kevin, his mom, and sister served St. Luke faithfully and he participated in a variety of ministries; Vacation Bible School, Children's Choir, Easter and Christmas speeches and programs, and he helped his mom clean the church every week on Saturdays.
While growing up in Mexia, Kevin participated in many sports including Mexia Little Dribblers and Mexia Baseball Association. Additionally, he played football and ran track at Mexia Junior High and High School. He also had a love for percussion and was a member of the Junior High Blackcat Band.
Kevin was adored by both sides of the family. Ironically, he was both a mama's boy and a daddy's boy. He was their first born with whom they were well pleased. He loved them both dearly and told them freely all the time. Even through the ups and downs and disappointments that life brought, he never questioned their love. It was a constant. His Nana favored him, and he was his Mimi's baby. Both of his grandmothers showered him with love and affection. He was his Pops best companion and right-hand man. Whether teaching him how to build a fence or mow the yard, they spent a lot of time together. There are lots of funny stories with these two. He was the big cousin's baby and the little cousins looked up to him. Kevin shared many summers, holidays, and memorable moments with his cousins. A childhood shared with Kevin brought them all a lifetime of love and laughter.
One of Kevin's proudest moments was escorting his baby sister, Kyra, for her Senior Night in November. He was beaming with pride and it's a moment that Kyra will never forget. Kevin was Kyra's protective big brother, partner in crime, and friend in life. They shared a special bond and he always expressed how proud he was of her accomplishments and couldn't wait to celebrate her graduation from high school in May and watch her walk across the stage for the both of them. He was her biggest cheerleader and the best big brother ever.
Kevin evolved from a boy to a man. He ran his race and finished his course. He made an impact on everyone he met, and no one will ever forget his handsome face and beautiful smile. Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Sammy Ealy. He leaves behind to celebrate his life: his father, Kevin Alexander (Lisa); his mother, Tamara Proctor (Clarence); his sisters, Kyra Alexander and Kai
Alexander; his brother, Micah Hampton; his paternal great-grandfather, Samuel Ealy; his paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Alexander; his paternal grandmother, Joyce (Marie) Alexander; his maternal grandparents, Ken and Yvonne Proctor; a beloved great aunt and uncle, Louie and Teresa Bright; aunts, Tameka Butts, Kelsey White(Jimmie), Kelly James (Rasaan), Casey Weary (Fred); uncle, Jeffrey Proctor, Sr.; godmother, Damita Johnson; and first cousins, Jeffrey Proctor, Jr., Jereal Proctor, Jaden Proctor, Jordan Proctor, Sariyah Butts, Zonika Gamble-Davis, Kaiden White, Jace White, Kamden White, Fred (Trey) Weary Jr., Madison Weary, Samuel Weary, Raquel James, Rasaan James, Jr., and his best-friend/cousin/confidant/road dog Devin Hollie; and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends.
