It is with deep love and profound sadness that we remember the life of Kevin M. Bode, of Port Jefferson Station, NY, who passed on October 15, 2025 at the age of 76. He was a cherished father, husband, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and buoyant spirit made an impact on all who knew him.To know Kevin was to love him. His humor and warmth were trumped only by his generosity, which spoke for itself: he invested more time and thought into birthday and Christmas gifts than anyone you have ever met, carved out time in his day for phone calls with his best friends, and ensured those around him always felt included. Kevin was a patient and steady soul, and always someone to be counted on, whether in an emergency or when a loved one needed a listening ear. In his eldest grandson Luke’s words, he was the greatest pa anyone could have ever wished for.Kevin was a lover of the sun, the ocean, and all things fast, like his cars and motorcycles. He was meticulous about his clothes and hair, enthusiastic about his treasures and hobbies, and compassionate toward every cat who wandered into his garage. But Kevin adored nothing more than his family.Kevin is survived by his devoted wife Christine Bode; beloved children Brent Bode, Leah Griffin, and Katie Laidlaw (Danny); adored grandsons Luke, Dylan, and Chase Laidlaw; and loving niece Angela Bucalo. Kevin was predeceased by his younger sister Meg Bucalo and their parents Cliff and Janet Bode.Though Kevin is no longer with us in body, his spirit—along with those of Meg, Cliff, and Janet—lives on in our memories, stories, and the love we will always feel for him and from him. Please join us to honor Kevin, celebrate his life, and reflect on the goodness he brought to this world on Tuesday, October 21 from 5 – 9 PM at Moloney’s Funeral Home in Port Jefferson Station.
