KEOTA-Kevin Patrick Cave, born July 30, 1956 to Darvin Cave, Jr. and Pauline (Norenberg) passed away August 28, 2024 at the Washington County Hospital from liver failure at the age of 68.

Kevin was a 1974 graduate of Keota High School and married Luann Sheets on February 28, 1976. Kevin lived in Keota and South English area his entire married life. He lived in Iowa City after graduation for two years before moving back to Keota. His career over the years were working at Ray Man, Vittetoe Slats, as well as working on the family farm. Many will remember his hay baling days. We will never forget his lack of speed while driving.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jessica Jeffries and husband Sam Jeffries of Kalona. His daughter-in-law Brandi Cave of South English. His pride and joy Remington, Carmelita and Quinten Cave of South English, Tate, Kenley, Brynn and Ainsley Jeffries of Kalona. As well as his brothers, Mike, Jeff and Murray Cave, sisters Kristi Sheetz, Anita Wall, Shelly Flynn and Melinda Watson and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Kevin’s most treasured time was spending it with his seven grandchildren and asking them lots of questions. A few but not all times are Remington Cave working on the farm, Quinten Cave making sure the cats were fed and the long slow drives home from school, Carmelita being quizzed on her sporting events, Tate Jeffries going to hang out at the pond, asking Kenley Jeffries to make him a cherry pie, teasing Brynn Jeffries about her slay make up, and Ainsley Jeffries shopping spree at DG’s.

Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brian Patrick in 2020. His parents and brothers Greg and Steve.  In-laws Harold and Mary Sheets. Brothers-in-law Tom Wall, Jack Lawrence, Gary Vincent and Joel Sheets. Sister-in-law Marge Sheets.

To celebrate and reminisce the life of Kevin there is a meal from 5-7 PM Sunday, September 1st at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Keota with the family present. A private burial will be held at a later date.

 Fly high Grandpa Kevin.
