Kevin Ceraso Obituary

The world lost a kind and quick-witted soul when Kevin David Ceraso died on June 27, 2025, at the age of 68. Known for his playful spirit, big heart, and the ability to make anyone feel welcome, Kevin brought light and laughter wherever he went. Raised in Leechburg, he lived a life full of love, good stories, and quiet generosity-giving freely without ever needing credit. Whether he was cracking a joke, helping a friend in need, or spoiling his grandkids, Kevin made every moment count. Kevin spent an extraordinary 41 years at ATI (Allegheny Technologies Inc.), rising from entry-level roles in 1980 to Vice President of Technology and Business Development by his retirement in April 2021. With over four decades of service to the company, he became known for his visionary leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to mentoring younger colleagues. Kevin didn't just work hard-he played hard, too. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing on the Allegheny River, a place that brought him both peace and joy. He was equally at home in a tree stand during hunting season or with a bocce ball in hand, ready to shoot it out for the game winner. He enjoyed his time at the Marconi and SOKOL clubs in Leechburg, where the games, the laughs, and the friendships ran deep. Golf was another favorite, as much about the scorecard as about the company. For Kevin, being active wasn't just about competition-it was about connection, fun, and making memories. Kevin's Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout his life. A lifelong and dedicated member of Christ the King Parish, he found deep meaning in both the traditions and the community of his church. Kevin served faithfully as a lector for more than 25 years, sharing the Word of God. His consistent presence at Mass and his devotion reflected a spirituality that shaped the way he lived-with kindness, integrity, and love. Kevin leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Marci-a love that began long before their wedding day, as they had been by each other's side since they were just 12 years old. He is also survived by his devoted daughter, Melanie Ceraso; her husband, Tony Berosh; and his treasured grandchildren, Kevin and Nathan, who brought great joy to his life. Kevin shared a special bond with his close-knit siblings and is survived by his brothers and sister, Greg (Tina) Ceraso, Mark (Alice) Ceraso, John (Karla) Ceraso, Joel (Regan) Ceraso, and Natalie (Michael) Bozzone. He also held a deep love for his nieces and nephews, each of whom brought him pride, joy, and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Frank and Rita Ceraso, and nephew, Domenik Ceraso. A celebration of his life-filled with the stories he would have loved to hear, laugh about, and remember-will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Leechburg. EVERYONE, PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Memorial contributions may be offered in Kevin's memory to Bishop Morrow Personal Care Home, 118 Park Road, Leechburg, PA 15656. ""We won't cry because it's over. We will smile because it happened."" 50 Years ago I met Kevin at Pitt Bradford I can hear his laugh and see that twinkle in his eye when telling a good story or just talking about his CHERISHED girlfriend Marci . Kevin was known as "HAWK" an affectionate nick name, rarely did anyone in our close circle call him Kevin. When I heard of Hawks death I cried maybe for the passing of our youth or perhaps because a good man named Kevin Ceraso who i knew a half century past is gone far too soon . The lord always takes those whom he sees as good much sooner than the rest of us .. Rest In Peace old friend ,Rest In Peace
