Kevin Wade Freeman was born to the union of Gilbert Winston Freeman, Jr. and Dora Alma Huston in
Cleveland, Ohio on June 4, 1967. After a hard-fought battle with cancer, his fight ended on November 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Kevin accepted Christ and, in his youth, attended Mount Pleasant Church of Christ in Cleveland with his dearly loved grandmother, Momo. He attended Garfield Heights High School and went on to work for Ark Movers for 30 years. He and Sam, the proprietor of Ark Movers, developed a friendship that lasted long after he hung up his uniform.
Kevin never met a stranger, and he touched countless lives around the world. He treated his friendships as an extension of his family, creating bonds that cannot be severed even in death.
He enjoyed spending time with his many family members, and especially his big brother Micheal. Kevin had energy that would light up a room and a presence and whistle that commanded attention any time he showed up at your door. He always greeted you humming a tune and embracing you with a hug and kiss.
Kevin had an eclectic taste in music, but his favorite by far was Caribbean. He knew the lyrics of thousands of Caribbean songs, and he loved to sing and dance along to them. If he wasn't swept away listening to music, he would be content with watching old western movies. When asked why he liked watching westerns so much his response was that the living depicted in the movies was "simple and free." Two words that surely describe Kevin. He was straightforward in his communication and lived his life unrestrictedly.
Kevin had several hobbies and interests, and outside of working at Ark Movers, he was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn't figure out or fix and he loved using his skills to help others.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father Gilbert and his granddaughter Karri. He leaves several in mourning. His children Shamere, Derion, Raven, Samir (Kyra), Akier, Kiana, Tinera, Ozee, and Cefvne. His grandchildren Kassidy, Lataya, Zakeriah, Jesiah, Audrianna, Aubrey, Autumn, Ahmir, Malani, Rayshon, Ky'on, Sa'Nai, Brixston, and Delilah. His mother Dora. His siblings Micheal, Gwendolyn, Wanda, Leah, Jacquelyn, Reiko, Pebrica, Larel, Rio, and Armani. His many nieces and nephews, and countless cousins.
Kevin had a host of family and friends, and friends he considered family, all of whom he loved fiercely and loved him just the same. The latter is innumerable and includes bonus children (Brittany, Timothy, David, Jamar, Alfred, Dayron, Jerome, Da'Varia, Trevon, Dajana, Damarion, Damonte', DeAnn, Cheyann, Shateeva, Jozthen, Angelis, Robert, and Antoinette), siblings, nieces, and nephews.
