It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kevin Ray Gibson born 11/24/1991 who was tragically taken from us in a fatal motorcycle accident in South Jordan, UT on 8/9/2025 at a young age of 33 years old. His mother, Cherie, father Steve, bonus mother Colleen, sister Katie, brother Kolton, his nieces Arissa and Addilyn, and his daughter Kaydence. His many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will miss him and forever hold him in their hearts. Kevin enjoyed many shenanigans with anyone who knew him and the rush for any type of thrill. He loved helping his mother no matter how big or small the task was, Kevin was willing to go the extra mile to show his love and his adoration for his mom. They enjoyed making pumpkin cookies together, along with spending his final days laying down with her to watch moives and shows. Even though his mom found him obnoxious and sarcastic at times, he thought he was always the comedian. Kevin enjoyed camping and 4 wheeling with his dad Steve along with working on vehicles, His bonus mom Collen who would always buy season lagoon passes for 10+ years which they enjoyed making life long memories at every year. Kevin and his sister Katie were Irish twins, being only 14 months apart they shared special bond. Katie enjoyed the times they went fishing together, she'll always remember the big fish he caught on one of their trips. Kevin enjoyed teaching Katie how to change her own oil, fix and change a flat tire, and all the handyman stuffs around the house. Kevin taught his brother Kolton how to work on vehicles and motorcycles. They enjoyed shooting guns, video games and watching YOUTUBE videos as well as just hanging out. And according to mom, the sibilings were always up to "NO GOOD" doing sibling things. He was an amazing uncle to his 2 nieces, Arissa and Addilyn. He adored them and was always ready to spoil them with new toys, candy, and soda pop. He enjoyed watching movies with them, jumping down the stairs at grandma Mo's house, jumping on trampoline, and making blanket forts. He taught Arissa how to shoot her first BB gun. Arissa's favorite memory is him doing karate hands and jokingly telling her to "shut mm hell up" (which is something he would tell to many). You know, uncle Kevin doing Kevin things. Kevin was always there for his grandparents. Grandpa Dawson was the first one to teach him how to tear apart motors and transmissions. Grandma Tish would always sneak them soda, cookies and snacks. Kevin was very close to his Grandma Mo. She took him to Disneyland and the beach several times. He also enjoyed countless trips to the movies, church, and to Silver Lake for picnics. Kevin's uncles taught him how to play poker, shoot guns, hunt, and play football. Kevin had adult struggles like many of us do, however he had been sober for 3 years and very proud of himself for graduating drug court, staying sober, working at Peterbilt, and knowing the definition of what a "work family" meant. He loved his job. Kevin loved his hobbies of RC trucks, hours on his computer creating 3D printed objects which many have been blessed with. His newest hobby being motorcycles. Kevin was always keeping everyone on their toes and there was never a dull moment with Kevin doing Kevin things. He will be missed by many as he touched so many lives in different aspects. A celebration of life will be held on August 24th, 2025 4pm – 8 pm at Murray Park in pavilion #5. Please come as you are any time between these hours. The address is 296 E Murray Park Drive, Murray UT 84107. No food or drinks will be provided. No alcohol is allowed in the park. We are asking to have this be a happy time, although there will be tears, lets celebrate Kevin for who his goofy self was. "Sorry for your loss" and "he is in a better place" are not words to be spoken here, as we would appreciate just your memories instead.
