Kevin Allan McCoy

Kevin Allan McCoy, age 70, of South Charleston, West Virginia, was called home to his eternal resting place on Monday, August 25, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Born July 5, 1955, in Charleston, WV, Kevin was a beloved son of the late Emmett and Gladys McCoy. He grew up in South Charleston and attended George Washington High School, where he developed a love for sports and the outdoors.
After graduating in 1974, Kevin proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country with honor and dedication for over 10 years. Following his military service, he relocated to Wills Point, Texas, where he discovered a passion for ranching. Eventually, Kevin settled in Austin, Texas, and spent over two decades working as a respected personal injury paralegal.
In 2014, Kevin returned to his hometown of South Charleston to be closer to family. He quickly became a familiar and beloved face "down the hill," enjoying good company, country music, and his red and white CFO's.
Kevin will be remembered for his humor, charm, and generous heart. A devoted father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, and friend, he never met a stranger and always left people smiling.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Gladys McCoy, and his beloved son, Kevin McCoy Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Crystal (Aaron) Saucedo; daughter-in-law, Jill McCoy; sister, Patricia (John) Stutler; brothers, Emmett McCoy and Larry (Carole) McCoy; niece, Amanda (Shawn) Spurlock; nephews, Matthew Wilson, Benjamin (Alexandra) McCoy, and Ryan McCoy; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 great-nieces and numerous nieces and nephews in Austin, TX.
A funeral service celebrating Kevin's life will be held at 1:00 PM., Friday, August 29, 2025, at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston with Pastor Jesse Waggoner Officiating. Kevin will be laid to rest in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston following the service with military graveside rites being performed by the Marine Corp Honor Guard and St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
