Kevin John Munroe, 67, of Douds, IA and formerly of Canada passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. As were Kevin's wishes, cremation has taken place with no services planned at this time. Friends may leave online condolences at ww.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com
Kevin John Munroe, a charismatic soul and a beacon of love, made his grand entrance into the world on January 9, 1958, in Toronto, Canada. He departed from us on October 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and wit that will live on in the hearts of many. Born with a knack for understanding how things work, Kevin found his calling as a product engineer, a career that perfectly aligned with his fascination for the inner workings of things. In his free time, he found joy in watching shows about how things were made or worked. His creative spirit was not only confined to his work; it permeated every aspect of his life, making him a captivating personality who could engage in conversation with anyone about anything.
In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Kevin Munroe was the embodiment of this sentiment. His charisma was infectious, and his loving nature made everyone around him feel cherished and valued. He was a devoted husband, having been married since August 23, 1986. His heart was filled with an abundance of love for his family, especially his beloved grandkids, who were the apple of his eye.
Left to share his story is his loving wife, Lorrie Munroe of Douds, IA; two daughters, Megan (D.A.)Carter and Jaime (Samuel) Allen; seven grandchildren, Kavin, Kazin, and Kinley Carter and Alaina, Cameron, Dylan, and Connor Allen; two brothers, Randy and Danny Munroe; two sisters, Rhonda Propp and Julie Gibson; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Campbell, Trevor McQuay, Melanie Munroe, Rory Munroe, and Amanda Riley; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Munroe, as well as many extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Wanda Munroe, his sister Heather McQuay and brother-in-law Phil McQuay, and his sister Kelly Larmand.
Our beloved Kevin's life was a testament to the beauty of human connection, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. We invite you to share your memories of Kevin and upload photos on his memorial page, celebrating a life beautifully lived and a soul that touched many.
