Natalie Bree Munroe, adored daughter, beloved sister, spoiled granddaughter and an inspiration to countless others, ran into the arms of Jesus, hand-in-hand with her Uncle Josh, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the tender age of eight years old.
Natalie, born on March 1st 2017, in Durham, NC, was a beautiful contradiction. An answer to prayer for her parents, Doug and Amy Munroe - a source of prayer for thousands moved by her story. A princess who loved pink drinks, Christmas and Taylor Swift - a tomboy who couldn't get enough of four-wheelers, Spiderman and law enforcement.
On the same day she was pampered with a mani-pedi, she'd stand toe-to-painted toe with her big brothers, Easton and Caleb, playfully daring them to cross her.
Born with many complex congenital heart defects, Natalie was supposed to be fragile. But she refused that limitation. Her family, her friends, her community watched as she'd run through the gym, play in the sand, sing and dance until her lips turned blue. We'd tell her to slow down, to take a break, she never did. Instinctively, she made the most of every moment.
Like a comet, burning all too quickly against the night sky, Natalie's life was awe-inspiring. While those who saw her story from afar found deep inspiration, her family simply loved her as Nat - our precious little princess.
Born with half a heart. She captured our whole heart. A beautiful contradiction, indeed.
Natalie leaves to cherish her memory: Mother, Amy Munroe of Newport, NC. Father, Doug Munroe of Havelock, NC. Her brothers: Easton and Caleb. Her grandparents: Ricky and Cindy Dickerson of Havelock, NC and Craig & Kim Munroe of Bloomington, IN.
Natalie's uncle, Joshua Dickerson, preceded her in death 6 months prior.
A service will be held to honor Natalie's memory on Wednesday, October 22nd at 1:00pm at Liberty Church in Havelock, followed by an intimate graveside service.
