Kevin Jude Murphy of Red bank, New Jersey, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 24th after a brief and sudden illness.

Kevin was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the sixth of eleven children, to James J. Murphy and Jane C. (nee Markey) Murphy. He was raised in and spent most of his life in Middletown, New Jersey. A graduate of Middletown Township High School, he was blessed with a gift for mathematics and athletics. He retired from the food services industry, and spent most of his life devoted to his family, friends and the Church. Kevin was a devout Catholic and communicant of Saint Catherine's Church in Middletown. He was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis, and loved everything about his faith. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan and loved both Notre Dame and Rutgers Football. Kevin had a loving, sociable and joyful nature. In his final years, he befriended many of his housemates from HAB core whom he loved and held most dear to his heart.

Kevin was deeply devoted to and loved by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Jane Murphy, along with his brother, Francis Xavier, and his sister, Jeanmarie (nee Murphy) Chudzik. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: James Joseph Murphy and Nancy (nee Haines) Murphy; Dr. Douglas W. Chudzik, his brother-in-law, and kind and loving physician ; Thomas Aquinas and his wife, Laurdes; Sean Patrick, and his wife Mary Kathleen (nee Gatti); Annmarie Murphy O'Reilly, and her husband, Timothy; Joseph James, and his wife, Kimberly; Richard Thadeaus, and his wife, Sandra; Paul Ignatius, and his wife, Nina; and his sister, Valentina Feldman (husband, Raymond). Kevin Jude also left countless, loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 29 from 4-8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, January 30 at 9:30 am at St. Catherine's RC Church 110 Bray Ave., Middletown. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
