Kevin Leigh Peace, born October 30, 1959 at the old Kentucky Baptist Hospital, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, S. L. Peace and Vera Humberger; and his brother, David Peace.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kelly Mullins Peace; son, Matthew Leigh Peace (Stephanie); daughter, Ashleigh Peace Hesler (Brian); brother, Gary Peace; grandchildren, Austin Baldwin, Cody Leigh Peace (Sierra), Haleigh Hesler, Braylen Hesler, and Kade Hesler; great-grandchildren, Kingston, Zaylen, Camden, and Sayla; nieces, Dunnaree Mullins, Shannon Peace, Noel Peace Hill, Vega Gonzales (Fred), and Presleigh Jo Hill; best friends, Dan Roach and Steve Cope; as well as many other friends and extended family, and 5 fur babies.
Kevin was a Cold War Veteran and served in the Army as a tanker from 1981-1986. He was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas (2nd Armor Division) and Lee Barracks in West Germany (4/69 Armor) where he was a Staff Sergeant. Kevin LOVED his country.
He was also a car guy. He loved Chevrolets, especially Corvettes. Kevin was a NASCAR and UK fan. But, family is what meant the most to Kevin. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with a passion and will be greatly missed by them.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel. Kevin will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky, at a later date.
The family requests that memorial contributions in honor of Kevin be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, or any other veteran organization.
