Kevin Sele Obituary

Kevin Jon Sele was born May 16, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Ron and Avis (Anderson) Sele. Kevin's family returned to Kittson County in 1972 and settled in Karlstad. The following year they moved to a farm just west of town. Kevin attended Karlstad High School, graduating in 1986. He went on to attend UMC in Crookston, Minnesota, graduating with an Associate Degree in Natural Resources. After completing his education, he worked for a year at Polaris Industries in Roseau. Kevin then began working at Marvin Windows in the shipping and receiving department. He was a valued employee there for more than 30 years, retiring due to health issues in 2020.
Kevin was remarkable in his kindness and from that he enjoyed an ever-growing number of good friends. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, ice fishing, 4-Wheelin' and Ranger Ridin'. Kevin was also involved in stock car racing, with many trips to the Greenbush track. Shooting pool, playing games and attending hunting banquets, were also on his long list of things he enjoyed. Beef's gift for selling raffle tickets was well known and he was always pursued by benefit organizers and charities for that skill. Kevin will certainly be missed.
Family members include his loving parents, Ron and Avis of Karlstad, MN; a brother, Scott (Carol) Sele, Karlstad; nieces, Laura (Steve) Halverson, Hawley, MN and Ashlee Sele, Fargo, ND; nephews, Eric (Madison) Sele, Gary, MN and Alex (Timber) Sele, Hitterdal, MN; great nephews, Ashton and Emmett; and great nieces, Aleah, Emma and Eleanor.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Karlstad. Interment will be in the Karlstad City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday even from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
