Kevin Patrick Sheehan, of Wallkill, NY passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 in Newburgh.
The beloved son of Ted and Kathleen Sheehan, he was born July 15,1993 in Newburgh, New York.
Along with his parents he is survived by his Brother Ryan Sheehan and Elizabeth Bichara, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. While Kevin was born a New York native, a big part of his childhood memories were created in Altoona. So many memories of playing with cousins, Christmas parties, and celebrations. He looked forward to all of his Altoona clan visiting and cousins staying throughout the summer.
Kevin was an avid athlete who began playing basketball in Kindergarten and continued throughout his high school career. He was mentored and coached by Mr. Bill Michella and later on by Coach Sam and the Newburgh Zion Lions. Whether it was basketball or baseball, Kevin was always outside in the neighborhood playing alongside his brother Ryan, Chris, Mike, Justin, McKeevers, and the rest of the Truman Court kids. Kevin attended Most Precious Blood School, Wallkill High School, and Dutchess Community College. Kevin inspired many different nicknames to include "Sardine Man"from his Uncle Larry, Kevy Wevy Wumpkin and "The Wump" at MPB, and finally "Wild Thing". He often shared that his happiest times were at Most Precious Blood and playing basketball for his school.
Kevin's parents aptly named him Kevin, which means "handsome, gentle, and kind". Kevin had the kindest of hearts and his gentle side came out when playing with children and his dog Bella. The outdoors spoke to Kevin and the mountains brought him solace. Whether he hiked alone or with close family members, Kevin found peace in the beautiful mountains God gave us. He liked to challenge himself with hiking and enjoyed many long hikes with his Uncle Kevin in Acadia, Adirondacks, Shenandoah, and Washington state.
He was so proud of his Irish heritage and embraced his Patron Saint Patrick with his image on his arm. Kevin loved to spend time with his family watching his favorite teams to include North Carolina Basketball, The Yankees, Giants, Penguins, and most of all cheering on Notre Dame football every weekend in the fall. His fondest memories were of his times with his family at South Bend and Giants Stadium. In the past two years, Kevin discovered a new passion for dirt bikes and motocross racing. He was saving for a new dirt bike of his own. He has enjoyed races with his friend and neighbor Steve Murphy and Steve's nephew Russell Chapman. He looked forward to many upcoming events this summer.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Ron/Jackie Sheehan and Terrance/Mary Shea. The spirit of Kevin will forever be remembered through his beautiful eyes; a window into his kind and gentle soul. The words, "My beautiful boy" whispered by his mom will forever echo in our minds.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, 3pm-7pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586.
A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:30am at Most Precious Blood Church, 42 Walnut St., Walden, NY 12586.
Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Gardiner.
Kathy, Ted, and Ryan wish to thank all of their families, close friends, and colleagues. The outpouring of support and love has been overwhelming during this devastating time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Most Precious Blood Church or Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall.

I´ll never forget when the school held an event during the day - Kevin & I sat next to one another. While everyone sat in anticipation, waiting for the rest of the school to find their seats, I decided to start humming a beat from a famous song at the time. Without hesitation, Kevin began to sing the lyrics to the song & we managed to get through the entire song together, swaying back-&-forth, & feeling incredibly accomplished afterwards. I believe we buttoned the experience with a "dap" & an embrace. Trust me, the memories & experiences do not end there.

Kevin´s spirit will be remembered as one with such passion & determination. I believe this tragedy should not define the person Kevin was, but allow it to remind us of how precious he truly was & how deeply he´s made an impact on his fellow cohort. I love him like a brother - always will. I´m looking forward to us jamming out together in the future. God bless you, Kevin, & God bless our MPB family!
