Obituary of Timothy J Countryman
Timothy J. Countryman of Wallkill, NY passed away on January 20, 2025. He was 69. Timothy was born to the late John Countryman and Hildred Wager on July 15, 1955 in Newburgh, NY. He was an official for several volleyball leagues. He served on the Board of the New Hurley Cemetery Association as well as being the past President. He had 27 years as a Real Estate Agent and was the former Administrator of the Huguenot Historical Society and the Young-Morse Estate (Locust Grove Estate). He graduated from Wallkill High School in 1973. He was a graduate of Orange County Community College and finished his Bachelors of Science in Forestry at Syracuse in 1977. Tim was a Player and Team Rep for the Mid-Hudson Volleyball club, USAV and PAVO National Referee, participated in the Empire State Games, Masters Division, Officated over 55 National Championship tournaments, Officiated NCAA Men's and Women's D-II and III Regionals, Officiated Special Olympics, Sitting Games for Wounded, Gay Olympics, member of NCAA/USAV Test Committee, Past President of Mid-Hudson Board of Volleyball Officials, Member and Chair/Board of Directors of Garden Empire Volleyball Association. He was dedicated to his community and the schools and students where he officiated. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Tim is survived by his Loving Life Partner, Diane Balog and her children; Justin Balog (Kristine), Todd Balog (Amy), Zachary Balog (Jimena) and Jared Balog (Erica) and their six children; daughter, Ellen Castro (Justin) of Pleasant Valley; sisters, Rachel Magnanini (Richard) of Wallkill and Caroline Byrne (Ed) of Wallkill; granddaughter, Elizabeth Casey; nephews, Robert Magnanini, David Magnanini and John Byrne; three great nieces, Abigail, Hannah and Grace Magnanini.

A Service will be held at 12 Noon at the funeral home following the visitation.
