Richard "Rick" Dzurilla, of Montgomery, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at home in bed. He was 66 years old.

He was the son of the late John Dzurilla and Betty Dzurilla, nee Bejzok. He was born on May 18, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. He spent the majority of his career in Technical Services with the most recent being as a Senior System Engineer for Newmark Knight Frank.

Rick was a man of service in every community he was a part of. He was a friendly face always wanting to help others and take care of anything they needed. He showed his love in his actions to each person he met, especially through his love of cooking and food. If you knew him, you knew he loved cooking and baking to share what he created with those around him. From cooking pots and pots of chili during youth football for the concessions to baking desserts for every birthday or holiday season, his culinary delights helped bring an event together. He loved every community that he was a part of including his church parish with the kitchen crew, coaching his kids' sports teams as they were growing up, the Lake George Gang ("Who's Better Than Us?") & the six of us (you know who you are). He will be incredibly missed by those that loved him including his brothers who remember fondly dialoguing from everything to old cartoons to movie quotes and anything in between. He was a delight when playing with his grand nieces (and other other young ones within his vicinity) with an infectious laugh and full of joy. Rick was the type of father that would drop what he was doing to come help his kids with even the smallest requests. He was an amazing husband who loved his wife more than anything in the world.

He is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Ellie Dzurilla, son James Dzurilla and his wife Devynn Ferrero, brother Robert Dzurilla and Susan Sterling, brother Ronald Dzurilla and Amanda Gilbert, nephew David Dzurilla, niece Kate & Vincent Tenorio, sister from another mother Claire Kuiphoff, and many extended family and loving friends.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 22, 2025 1pm-3pm and 6pm-8pm, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St. Walden, NY 12586. (Casual Dress, as Rick would have liked)

A Mass of Roman Catholic burial will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2800 Route 17K Bullville, NY 10915.

Burial will follow at Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in Rick's memory. You can make them either through their online portal or in person at the parish.
