Kevin Michael "Horseshoe" Skaggs, a beloved member of the Carroll County community, passed away on January 27, 2024, in Edgewood, Kenton County, KY. He was born on June 24, 1974, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana to Sandford Elliott "Bud" and Brenda Yvonne Richmond Skaggs. Kevin had an outgoing personality and a friendly demeanor that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His dry sense of humor could always bring a smile to people's faces.

Kevin was a graduate of Carroll County High School and went on to have successful career. He spent 29+ years employed as a Material Handler for Nucor Steel in Gallatin County, KY, where he was highly regarded by his colleagues. Additionally, Kevin worked as a farrier for numerous years, showcasing his passion for horses.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He particularly enjoyed riding horses and competing in riding competitions. Exploring trails on his side-by-side vehicle was another activity that he found great pleasure in.

One of Kevin's proudest accomplishments was his remarkable ability to build, fix, or repair anything that came his way. This talent showcased his resourcefulness and determination. Those who sought his help were always grateful for his expertise and willingness to lend a hand.

Kevin will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a loving family who meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife Amanda Jane Stewart Skaggs and their children: Desiree Yvonne Skaggs of Turners Station, KY; Olivia Lee Josephine Dixon of Turners Station, KY; Cody Garland (Crystal) Skaggs of Ft. Thomas, KY; and Charles Dayden Clay of Turners Station, KY.

In addition to his immediate family members, Kevin is survived by his mother Brenda Richmond Skaggs and cherished siblings: Rhonda S. (Rob) Riley of Carrollton, KY; and Gilbert Cleveland "Tooter" (Andrea) Skaggs of Bedford, KY. He also leaves behind his father-in-law Terry Stewart of  Carrollton, KY and mother-in-law Linda Smith Stewart of English, KY.

Kevin's warm heart and loving spirit knew no bounds. He had a special place in his heart for his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he deeply cherished. His presence will be greatly missed during family gatherings and celebrations.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father Sandford Elliott "Bud" Skaggs in December 2020. Their reunion in heaven brings solace to those left behind while their memories continue to live on.

During his life, Kevin found great joy in the simple pleasures such as enjoying a cold beer and a good smoke. These moments allowed him to unwind and appreciate the beauty of life.

In remembering Kevin Michael "Horseshoe" Skaggs, let us celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the impact he had on all those fortunate enough to cross paths with him. May his memory be cherished forever in our hearts, as we reminisce about the laughter he brought into our lives and the love he shared unconditionally.
