W. Powell Raisor, passed away on September 9, 2025, in Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio. Born on June 21, 1942, in Sanders, Carroll County, Kentucky.

Powell led a multifaceted career, retiring from Dow Corning Company in Carrollton after many years of devoted work on the service crew. He was also a farmer and lent his skills as a lineman for Kentucky Utilities. Powell served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. His service was marked by bravery, earning him several accolades, including a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

An active member of the American Legion Post #41, Powell was proud to serve as a leader of their Honor Guard in Carrollton, ensuring that the sacrifices of veterans were honored and remembered.

Beyond his professional and military achievements, Powell found joy in his hobbies, particularly cooking and woodworking, which allowed him to express his creativity and share his passion with those around him.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Traci Miller, of Dayton, OH, and his grandson, Logan Miller, also of Dayton, OH. Powell's legacy continues through them, as they carry forth the values he instilled in them.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Candace Lynn "Candy" Gaines Raisor, on July 12, 2021, and his parents, Walter Frank Raisor, who passed on June 14, 1984, and Ethel Mae "Sissy" Bell Raisor, who passed on June 13, 1994. Powell also mourned the loss of his sisters, Joan R. Riley on October 16, 2005, Mary Lindsay Lawrence on March 11, 2011, and Doris K. Wilson, who passed just prior to him on September 16, 2024.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 ,11 am at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY
