Kevin Leon Strickland, 55 years old, recently of Lizella Georgia, passed away on April 10, 2023, four days before his 56th birthday. Kevin was born April 14,1967 in Tampa Florida, to Linda (Kinsman) and Leon Strickland. He grew up in Land O Lakes and lived within a few miles of his grandparents and extended family.
As a young boy Kevin was fortunate to grow up near his grandparents, Granville and Elizabeth Kinsman. He enjoyed spending time with them in the big, yellow, two-story farmhouse and playing in the orange groves with his cousins.
After graduating from Land O Lakes High School in 1985, he joined the US Army as a medic. He was honorably discharged after three years of service to be with his family. For the last 20 years, Kevin had been a supervisor for Verizon in Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. He mentored many employees and always took the time to listen to his co-workers. Kevin was wise and could help you see other sides of situations and find solutions to problems. He was an amazing man with a great heart.
Kevin was also a devoted father and had a great sense of humor. He would refer to himself as a 'nerd' being a huge fan of Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, Fantastic Four and Lord of the Rings. He was a big kid at heart. The most important thing to him was his family and spending time with his children.
He was preceded in death by his father Ervin Leon Strickland of Dade City Florida.
Kevin is survived by his wife Auree, and children Christopher, Dallas, Ronald, Abbie, Granville, Emma and JJ. Kevin is also survived by his mother Linda Sue (Kinsman) Sumner and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I'm his son Dallas. There are so many things I'll remember about my dad, but the first thing that comes to mind are the talks we would have. It could be walking around the store countless times, driving around our neighborhood, sitting out on the front porch, late night when he comes to my room to see if I'm awake, or chilling in his office.. we had so many talks and so many things to say to each other.
