It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Kevin Sweeney, of natural causes in his home in South Lyon, Michigan on August 22, 2025. He was born in Cass City, Michigan on November 30, 1951 to the late Martin and Bertha Sweeney. He graduated from Ubly High School and spent his adult life as a concrete construction worker and as a heavy equipment operator. Kevin was a kind, gentle, and generous man who was always ready to help others with whatever project needed to be done. He brought joy to his family and friends with his sunny disposition and thoughtfulness. To his nieces and nephews, Kevin was a second Santa Claus who brought the perfect gifts every year. At all family visits he could be counted on to play countless board games, cribbage, or chess. Kevin had an impressive vegetable garden and provided a bounty of fresh produce for his neighbors and family members. His smile and suspenders will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Bertha Sweeney. He is survived by his siblings: Kathryn (Mike) Taff, Nancy (Tom) Collins, and Brian (Sally) Sweeney, and his nieces and nephews: Julie, Jennifer, Stew, Sara, Janice, Paula, and Roger. Cremation has taken place and private services for Kevin will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St Columkille Cemetery Fund, St. Columkille Catholic Church, Ubly, MI.
