Kevin Clarke Swepson, 67, of Marion, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Mission Hospital McDowell.
He was born in Marion on February 8, 1958 to the late Isaac Moore and Josie Swepson. A brother, Michael Swepson, also preceded him in death.
A graduate of McDowell High School, Kevin was a wonderful football player who earned the nickname, “Hoss.” Later in life, he enjoyed video games, and he formerly was a talented artist. Kevin loved his family, and it especially did his heart good to spend time with his nephew, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was always looking for ways to help others.
He is survived by his siblings, Cecelia Swepson, Matthew Swepson, Keva Moore, Dawn Credle, and Kim Miller; one nephew, Torin Tate; three nieces, Latara Grandison (Brandon), Tatiyana Swepson, and Kiran Ashley Tate; and his great-nephews and great-nieces, Josiah Swepson, Jamiah Swepson, Jaliah Swepson, Jocoby Grandison, Aurora Swepson, Elyza Swepson, Phoenix Swepson, Iris Swepson, Noah Francis, Ayden Francis, Milyah Francis, Mesiyah Tate, Amir Tate, Alliana Tate, and Laylen Tate. A host of cousins and other beloved extended family also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
