Keyla L. Cook

COOK, Ms. Keyla-age 54, of Flint, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 4, 2025 with a 1:30pm family hour at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507.
Keyla Loread Cook was born on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1970, in Flint, MI, to Damita Clark. She attended Southwestern High School in Flint, Michigan. Keyla enjoyed spending time with family, helping others, and laughing. She always carried a smile on her face and love in her heart. Keyla loved celebrating holidays and had a matching outfit for each. She enjoyed thrift shopping, playing games, and decorating in her free time. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and daughter. She loved her fiancé, John. She loved every one. She was funny, creative, and full of life.
In August of 2022 She fell in love with her new career at the Hamilton Community Health Network Clinic. Keyla took pride in her purple scrubs. She enjoyed meeting new patients and taking lunch breaks with her coworkers. She left an impression on everyone she met. Her spirit will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her Great-Grandparents Alzona and Robert Jordan, Grandmother Ethel May Davis, uncles Lamont, Bruce, and Tyrell Cook, cousin Kimjanna Home, and some other cherished cousins and friends.
She leaves to cherish her fiancé John Stewart, mother Damita Clark, two daughters, Keoshia Cook and Darquesha Rodgers, Great Aunt Rolena Jordan, cousins Vincent Brunston, Faith (Detrick, Jordan, and Hurie) Conerly, Keisha Cook, Stacy Dean, Tyrell Cook Jr., Terri Ann Miller, Roy Miller, Kenyon Miller, and Tonea Miller, along with a host of other valued family and friends who love her.
