We come together, with heavy hearts, to remember our beautiful Kiana Zamora, whose vibrant spirit and infectious laughter were taken from us far too soon. Born on March 18, 2007 to parents Eulalia Salazar and Gustavo Zamora. Kiana attended Marshalltown High School, a feat that signified the beginning of what promised to be an incredible journey ahead. She had taken up a position at JBS in sanitation.

To know Kiana was to know someone who was unapologetically herself—one of “the baddies,” as she would say. She had an undeniable passion for life. Whether she was picking out the perfect outfit on a mall shopping spree, spending endless hours with friends, indulging in her favorite Starbucks drink, savoring pho, or feasting on Wing Stop, every moment was filled with laughter and joy. She had a keen eye for makeup, particularly her beloved lashes, which she wore like a crown. Going to the beach brought her pure happiness, where she would soak up the sun and create memories that will forever warm our hearts.

Tragically, Kiana's time with us ended too soon on October 20, 2025, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her mother and stepfather, Eulalia Salazar and Rafael Avalos; her father, Gustavo Zamora; her siblings: Estevan and Aliana Salazar and Marissa, Diego, Aylin, Ian and Melina Zamora; grandmother Billie; her aunts: Salina and her family, Spring, Priscilla, Alexis, Angelica, Rosario “Chayo” and her family; Bertha, Trini, and Martha; and uncles: Alfonso and his family, Luis, Roberto, Eveardo, Marshall and Serafin; as well as numerous cousins, friends and extended family members. Kiana is preceded in death by her grandparents: Luis and Trini Zamora, and Alejandro Salazar; aunts Alexandria Salazar and Griselda Zamora; and uncles Beto and Travis.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a visitation on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry Catholic Church, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery. The family would also like to invite you to attend a family-led celebration of life at Riverview Park Reunion Hall following the burial.

As we cherish Kiana’s memory, let us honor her spirit by embracing life with the same enthusiasm and love she did. Memorials may be directed to Kiana’s family for later designation.
