Kim Marie Jenkins Edwards 62 of Indian Head MD, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 23, 2025 in La Plata MD.
Kim was born in Washington DC on March 25, 1963. She grew up in District Heights MD, where even in her young life, her family and many friends were always her priority. Kim's childhood was filled with family gatherings, crab feasts and yearly vacations to the ocean. She graduated from Crossland High School and became a Beautician. Shortly after, she met her husband of 39 years Brian Edwards and they would soon move to Indian Head, where they would raise their five children. Above all, Kim was the best mom, mawmaw and wife anyone could ask for. Kim had a love for animals like no one else and her home was always filled with her four-legged babies. Kim was an avid sports fan and loved the Nationals and Capitals, however her most favorite teams where the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins. Her perfect day would include family, her beloved animals, hot crabs, a cold Rolling Rock beer and football with her favorite teams winning their games. Kim had a tremendous soul and spirit. She was kind, generous and courageous. Most importantly, she was the pillar of her family. She was taken from us way too soon; however, Heaven gained the most beautiful angel on the day Kim returned home to our Lord.
Kim is predeceased in death by her parents James and Betty Jenkins, her brother Jim, her Mother-in-law Janet Vasquez-Labree and her grandson Dylan.
Kim is survived by her husband Brian Edwards and their children, Brian Edwards Jr., Kristi Edwards (Thomas), Justin Edwards (wife Brittney), Tommy Edwards (wife Heather) and Chase Edwards (Gracia). She is also survived by her sister Lynn Chinnaraj (husband Tony), father-in-law Wayne Labree, brother-in-law Robbie Vasquez (wife Judi), grandchildren Brian III, Mya, Blake, Cameron, Micah, Riley, Arianna, Jaxon, Reese, nieces Samantha (husband Brad), Alyssa, Amber, great Nephews Landynn, Bennett, and great nieces Marleigh, Leilahni, Brynnlee, Adalyn. Kim also has many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Kim had one final wish not to have a funeral service. She did not want family and friends to cry, be sad and experience additional grief and sorrow. To respect Kim's wishes, the family will forgo the funeral service and ask that you remember and honor Kim as the beautiful person that she was.
Expressions of sympathy and condolences can be sent to the Edwards family, in care of Brian Edwards. Please contact any family member or message her son Tommy Edwards on Facebook for their address.
