Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle etc., passed away December 23, 2025, surrounded by all of his girls. Including his sweet little freckle faced angel, Jamie, who was there to guide him home.

Kim was born in Payson, Utah on November 17, 1951 to Ray and Merie Fail.He served in the United States Navy and later the Utah National Guard. He married his sweetheart, Maxine Christopherson, on March 20, 1973. They were later sealed for time and all eternity March 19, 1977 in the Salt Lake temple. He was a welder by trade and often pointed out buildings and landmarks that he had a hand in constructing. He enjoyed playing, coaching and watching sports.

He rarely called anyone by their given name. Most were given a nickname, or like his father before him, just called you, George. He himself was known to many as “Mister”.

Kim had two real loves, his family and the great outdoors. He enjoyed being surrounded by nature and usually preferred this to, well, almost everything else.

Kim is survived by his eternal partner, Maxine, his daughters and sons-in-law, Kristie and Bill Nicholson, Lisa and Rory Snyder, Deanna and Chris Bath, Julie and Josh Chacon; his grandchildren, Tyson, Haylee, Mason, Jaelynn, Jamie, Lexie, Camrie, Hunter, Jake, Lexi; great grandchildren, Taige, Barrett, Kyeler, Everlee, Theo; and many of his very large extended family that he loved so very much.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie, his parents, Ray and Merie, his brother, James, two nieces, one nephew, two great nieces, and three great nephews.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, warmth, and unwavering love. His presence will be missed beyond words, but his influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

You are invited to pay your respects and visit with the family at a viewing on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM.

To honor Kim we ask that everyone, attending or not, wear denim and/or flannel on Tuesday.
