Kim Vanessa Jackson, 72 of Garfield, departed this life peacefully on January 20, 2026. Born November 19, 1953, to the late Robert Jackson and the late Julia (Wofford) Jackson, she grew up in the Homewood North section of Pittsburgh and attended Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Kim lived a life marked by grace, resilience and a deep compassion for those around her. A proud resident of the city's Garfield neighborhood, Kim touched countless lives through her warmth, generosity and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Through Kim's professional endeavors at the Pittsburgh Board of Education, her cherished friendships or her quite acts of kindness, Kim left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. She is known for her radiant smile, and her love for the children of Fort Pitt Elementary School whom she adored.

She is also known and will be remembered for the strength she showed in every chapter of her life.

Kim is preceded in death by her only child Kenneth "Lil' Kenny" Robert Jackson, her sisters, Julia Keen and Denise Jackson along her with her brother William Jackson.

Kim is survived by her sister, Arnnetta M. Jackson, brothers, Robert "Peteray" Jackson, Edward C. Jackson and Thomas Jackson (Stacey), as Well as a host of Nephews, Great-Nephews, Nieces, Great Nieces, Great Great Nieces, Cousins and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30th from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Weddell-Ajak Funeral Home, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall, with the Rev. Hubert D. Hutcherson, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, O'Hara Twp.
