Kim Marie O'Connor, age 67, of Newark, DE passed away on May 24, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Agnes (Wright) and James Walker. Kim graduated from Yorktown High School in New York in 1975 and moved to Delaware with her family in September 1992. Kim spent many of her years working in childcare, which was one of her biggest passions. She spent time working at Kiddie Academy and Great Expectations Child Care, but most importantly, she was a dedicated homemaker for her husband and children. She also enjoyed and took pride in volunteering her time at the food bank.
She was a true lover of disco, the sunny beach, her family and friends and being a "Mimi" to her granddaughter. Her laughter, warmth and radiant spirit touched everyone lucky enough to know her. Whether she was dancing to oldies music, soaking in the ocean breeze, or sharing stories with loved ones, Kim had a way of making every moment brighter.
Kim is survived by her husband of 46 years, John O'Connor; her children, Shaun O'Connor, Lauren O'Connor, and Kellie Ann O'Connor; her granddaughter, Lily; her siblings, Timothy Walker (Robin), Kelli Jencik (Sean), and Kathi Nick; as well as, many nieces & nephews and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 2nd at 11 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Dupont Streets, Wilmington, DE 19805. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
