With heavy hearts the family of Kim Marie Samplaski (Laona, WI), age 65, would like to announce her unexpected passing on August 25, 2025.
Kim resided in the Northwoods since 1999, but was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. She grew up surrounded by the love of her parents, Peter and Joanne. Kim was the second oldest of five children. She had one sister and three brothers. One of her favorite things to do was being able to go fishing with her brothers when possible. She loved her family more than words can ever express.
Once she was out on her own, she was able to experience what her own true unconditional love was when she had her oldest son, Lucas, in 1981. 10 years later, she experienced that feeling again when she had her son, Gerald. Kim was lucky enough to be blessed with an additional (self proclaimed) son, Bryan, after Lucas and Bryan met in junior high. These boys were her lifeline-her heartbeat. She lived every day for them.
In 2010, Kim was given the best gift of all: a granddaughter Isabella, the daughter of Lucas. Izzy and her Nana were the best of friends. They loved going on adventures. No matter what they did together, they always had the best time. Kim swore Izzy was her lucky charm. So much so that she would hope to get her "Izzy Aces" when she tried her hand at gambling. Those "Izzy Aces" were a highlight to Kim. If she got them- everyone around her knew it.
10 years later, Kim was blessed with a second grandchild. Just 2 weeks before a worldwide pandemic shut everything down, Lucas Jr. was brought into the world-a grandson. Luke always enjoyed his time spent with Nana and loved talking to her on the phone. He always made her laugh and they both really liked their superheroes.
Kim never met a stranger. She would talk to whomever crossed her path. You always knew Kim was around because her laugh was contagious. It really was one of the best laughs and we're so happy to have had it in our lives. She enjoyed time with all of the close friends she made over the years as well.
Kim is survived by her sister: Chris (Wayne) Nelson, brothers: Lee (Darlene) Samplaski and Scott (Dawn) Samplaski. Sons: Lucas (Melanie) Elmore, Gerald (Ana) Ernst and Bryan (Viola) Krachtt. Two grandchildren: Isabella and Lucas Jr. as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Joanne (Ruiz) Samplaski. One brother: Todd Samplaski. Nephew Michael and Niece Lynnette. As well as aunts, uncles and other loving family and friends.
Rest in peace, Kim Possible. We will love and miss you forever.
The family has set up a public visitation and service to be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Wabeno, WI.
Visitation will be held from 10am until 12pm with the service to follow immediately at 12pm. Officiated by Scott Wycherley.
