Kimball Lester Peed, 68, passed away on Friday August 2, 2024 at his residence in Newnan, GA after a brief illness. He was born October 27, 1955, in Taylor County, Georgia, to the late Robert Jackson Peed and Sarah Cornelia Holmes Peed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Nell Peed DeLong.
Mr. Peed grew up in rural Butler, GA, where he enjoyed raising and showing pigs at state fairs and livestock shows. He also enjoyed rebuilding and restoring automotive vehicles.
He graduated as STAR student at Taylor County High School in 1973. After high school he graduated from Wesley College in Florence, MS with an associate degree. He continued his formal education at Columbus College with a BS in psychology; University of GA, College of Arts and Sciences, BA; Harvard University, Department of Sociology, MA, Organizational Behavior; Emory University, MBA Finance.
His early career included two decades of public service to the state of GA. His later career included senior consultant with Draper and Associates, and risk manager with the Atlanta Housing Authority.

An informal graveside memorial will be held at Union Church Cemetery in Butler, GA on September 1, 2024, at 6:30 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Sue Boutwell Peed of Newnan; sons, Robert Logan (Holly Beth Hodges) Kimball of Carrollton, Christopher Lyle Kimball of Newnan, Peter Hua of China, Ebenezer Dowuona of Ghana; sisters, Doris Elaine Peed Watson of Madison, MS, Amy Gayle Peed (Phil) Lloyd of Butler; grandchildren, Elias Jed Kimball and MacKenna Brielle Kimball; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
