Kimberley Sorensen Obituary
In Loving Memory of Kimberley M. Sorensen
Watertown - A radiant soul departed from our midst on Friday, December 29th, 2023, as Kimberley M. Sorensen, 52, of Watertown, journeyed into eternity. Her indomitable spirit, unwavering strength, and boundless love left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. The orchestrations of her farewell are entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc., Watertown, NY,
Born on April 30th, 1971, to Michael Sorensen and Pamela Langdon, Kimberley was a force of nature from the start. She embraced life with zest, attending South Jefferson High School, where her prowess in soccer was unmatched. Her passion for sports knew no bounds, a testament to her tenacity and determination.
Kimberley furthered her education at North Country Community College, graduating with a degree in applied sciences in 1991. Her career in the medical field was a testament to her dedication and compassion, notably as a Registration Specialist in the ER at Samaritan Medical Center.
Adventures with her family on Lake Ontario and cherished camping trips shaped Kimberley's childhood. Marriages to Tracy W. Slayden and Dana R. Tanner brought both joy and challenges, but from them blossomed her greatest treasures – her three sons: Devin, Nicholas, and Jaden.
Despite battling kidney disease, Kimberley faced each day with unwavering optimism. Her resilience and upbeat spirit touched everyone she encountered. A true artisan, she found solace in crafting, especially her talent for creating beautiful heartwarming scrapbooks.
Her love for reality TV, soap operas, and the Game Show Network provided moments of joy and laughter. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Kimberley found immense pride and joy in
watching her three boys play soccer and lacrosse. Kimberley reveled in the joys of motherhood and grandmotherhood, finding fulfillment in the precious moments shared with her family.
Dragonflies held a special place in her heart, a loving reminder of her mother. In her eyes, they symbolized beauty, resilience, and the enduring connection to the ones we love.
In the tapestry of her life, Kimberley was the type of person who could not help but go out of her way to aid those in need. Her boundless generosity transcended limitations of time, money, or energy – she always found a way.
A woman of pride, strength, and unyielding stubbornness, Kimberley fearlessly spoke her mind. Her love for nature, sunshine, and the soothing presence of water led her on journeys, including cherished trips to visit her sister in Florida, where she often extended her stays to savor more moments.
Kimberley's unique bond with each of her six siblings spoke volumes about the depth of her relationships. Her heart overflowed with love for her family.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her pride and joy – her three sons: Devin (Megan) Slayden, Watertown: Nicholas Tanner, Watertown: and Jaden Tanner, Watertown. Their families, including 5 grandchildren Madilynn, Malcolm, Marcus, Ryleigh, and Keaton, were the lights of her life.
Survived by her siblings Brian (Jennifer) Lynch, Antwerp: Erin (Claude) Mayne, Rodman: Sherri (Blane) Wilson, Tampa, FL: Shannon (James) Bergmeyer, Ft. Myers, FL: Brent Lynch, Adams: and Justin (Jennifer) Sorensen, Rodman: Along with her mother, Rosanne Sorensen of Rodman, and faithful feline companion Piper. Kimberley's departure leaves a void that will be keenly felt by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Along with an extensive number of friends.
In celebration of Kimberley's life, let us remember the woman who embodied strength, love, and unwavering resilience. May her memory be a beacon of inspiration, and may she find eternal peace by the water she loved so dearly.
