Kimberly Anne Carter, 59, of Ellenboro, died Friday, December 6, 2024.
She was the daughter of Alice Carter of Gastonia and the late Calvin Carter. She was also preceded in death by her longtime friend, Detlef Hudson. Kim was a very dedicated member of Big Springs Baptist Church, and loved her church family. She was an avid reader and made entries into a journal.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Marta Correll of Gastonia; her son, Michael Cordova of Goldsboro; her sister, Kelly Carter(Mario) of Gastonia; her brother, Calvin Carter of Hendersonville; a grandson, Declan Samuel Cordova; her longtime friends, Greg and Joan Coffey; and the entire Ann Self family.
A family directed Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 13, 2024 at Big Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Scott will officiate.
The Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 11:00 am Friday morning at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Springs Baptist Church, 534 Big Springs Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040 or the Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of cremation service for Ms. Carter.
