Kimberly Jo Colliton, to some better known as Mama Bear or Miss Kim, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 at the Cape Coral Hope Hospice House. She was born on September 18th, 1958 in Springfield, OH to the proud parents of Kingston Louis & Beverly Ann (Chiles) Compton. Kim was a Christian Preschool teacher for many years and even authored a children's book "No, Little Brutus, No!" after her retirement. She spent years dedicating her summers and evenings to the many children in Camp Fire Boys & Girls. Kim was a Camp Director at Camp Otonwe, a counselor at Camp Wyandot, and even a local group counselor. She truly loved the outdoors and it brought her such joy to share that with the younger generation. One of her other passions, along with her loving husband, was boating. They spent most weekends enjoying their boat on Lake Erie with their two daughters. Kim also had a love for all of God's creatures and her personal pets, even owning a Capuchin monkey in her younger years.
Kim is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Colliton; her loving daughters: Michele (Fred) Thatcher & Jo Colliton (Brandon Burns); her cherished mother Beverly Compton; her sister Beth (Larry) Evener; brothers: Terry (Becky) Chiles, Timothy (Bobby) Chiles; one grandson Mac Thatcher & several Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nephews, & Nieces.
Kim was preceded in death by her father, Kingston Louis Compton and by her grandparents, Ruby & Burley Chiles.

My prayers go out to all of you. This comes as such a shock to me as I am sure it does to you. I worked at David Lutheran with her. She always made sure I knew she was younger than me. She will be missed.
