Kimberly (Kym) Dillard Lewis, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2025. She had family by her side through everything and rested peacefully knowing her family was with her.

Mrs. Lewis was born July 9, 1966, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter, and eldest child to Bill and Charlene Dillard. She was married to Richard Lewis on July 10, 2004; they were married just a day after her birthday. Through those twenty-one years, they raised three boys together. For work, she was the head of the show at MyHRScreens, a background screening company.

Mrs. Lewis dedicated her life to pushing the fight against childhood cancer. She architected and ran a movement to fund the research for the chance to save even one child. In the small bit of time when she was not working, she spent her time taking care of animals. She was very much a pug connoisseur and even raised a couple of German shepherds. She was the biggest Alabama football fan, as well as the biggest Hocus Pocus fan and nothing brightened her day more than a Hallmark movie, herbal tea, and her boys all by her side, and her pugs, of course.

She was one of the most selfless people you have ever met, always putting others before herself. If someone asked for something, she was already on the case. Even if it meant giving the clothes off her back to ensure her boys could eat, she did it without hesitation and those same people will ensure her legacy will leave a lasting impact.

She always was an amazing baker and an even better cook. Her chicken and dumplings and taco soup were dishes worth fighting for.

While she will not be able to be a grandmother while with us, her boys will ensure her grandkids know exactly the type of woman she was: A caring, giving, selfless, and hilarious woman. A woman that would cry tears of joy for the most basic of gifts. A mother that would sacrifice everything she had for her boys. A wife that any man would be blessed to have as theirs forever after.

The funeral will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 1360 W Government St, Brandon Mississippi on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM, with service beginning at 2:00 PM. She will be buried at Lakeland Place, Memorial Park.

Special thanks to the people at Merit Health Hospital and the University of Mississippi Medical Center, who did everything they could to give Mrs. Lewis a miracle.

While cancer may have overtaken her body, there is nothing that can be done to break her beautiful spirit. Any donations may be made to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation; an organization with the same goal as Mrs. Lewis. To put an end to childhood cancer.
