Kimberly Diane Scheider Hepler of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1962 to the late Thomas and Virginia Scheider in Jacksonville, FL. Lovingly known as "Sissy", she grew up in Jacksonville where she graduated from Wolfson High School and married her high school sweetheart, Mitch Hepler. They enjoyed 41 years together, having two sons, Cory and Thomas. She remained close to her childhood friends and family and lived in Jacksonville for the majority of her life with the exception of 7 years in Virginia Beach, VA, where she moved for her career. She worked in market administration and provider relations for Humana and was former Vice President of Southeast Region for United Health Care/Optum Health. Upon returning to the area, she began a new career working in repair claims management.
Sissy was a vibrant woman, filled with positive light, energy, and love for everyone she met. She loved her cats, enjoyed her pool, gardening, horseback riding, the beach, fishing, nature walks and art shows. She made sure that everyone she loved knew that she loved them. Sissy was known for her radiant smile and no matter what life threw at her, she faced it head-on with a positive attitude and optimism.
Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Virginia Scheider, and her brother, Gene Scheider (Sheryll), and mother-in-law, Atavia Facciolo. Sissy is survived by her loving husband, Mitch, two sons, Cory (Sara) and Thomas (Haley) and siblings Connie Craven, Pam Harper, and Ricky (Christie) Scheider, father-in-law, Jim Facciolo, sister-in-law, Jessica Coleman (Steve), along with two granddaughters, Hazel and Birdie Rae and numerous aunts, uncles, and hundreds of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rather than flowers, please make donations to your favorite Breast Cancer Awareness Organization. A celebration of life is being planned, and details will be announced for a later date.
