Obituary Notice – Kimberly D. Smith "Smitty" (updated)

Dunkirk: Kimberly D. Smith "Smitty", 68, of Dunkirk, died Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born in Dunkirk on October 8, 1956, the son of Beverly (White) Smith of Dunkirk and the late Carl H. Smith.

Kim was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1974 and a graduate of the LoGuidice Educational Center BOCES in Auto Mechanics. He worked as a Mechanic for the former George Ray, Valley Tire, Midas and retired from D&F Complete Auto Service all in Dunkirk.

Kim would help anyone who needed mechanic work and loved working with his grandfather on the farm. He enjoyed muscle cars, trucks, cooking and spending time at the cottage in Bear Lake where they would go water-skiing.

Surviving besides his mother are a daughter Kellie Smith, of Fredonia, two grandchildren; Lennox & Zeva Richter and several nieces & nephews. Besides his father he was predeceased by his brother Chad A. Smith who died September 15, 1995 and his sister Lynda L. Pleszewski who died March 3, 2009.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 2-4 at his residence, 3893 Williams Street, Dunkirk. Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.
