Kimberly Strite Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Island Cremations and Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Kimberly Ann Strite, age 65, formerly of Dargan, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, January 2, 2026 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL with her beloved husband, Dale Strite, by her side.
She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1978. Kim was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

Kim retired from the National Park Service in 2015 after 35 years of Federal Service. She and Dale retired to Florida, where she enjoyed spending time at the beach, entertaining loved ones who came to visit, socializing with friends, and attending the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach. Kim also spent her retirement volunteering at the Canaveral Port Ministry where she assisted crew members of both cruise ships and cargo ships. Many of those she assisted became family friends. She loved going to Orioles games, taking trips, especially cruises, with family and friends, and creating various arts and crafts (from ceramics to wreaths).

Kim is survived by her loving husband, Dale Strite, and 3 daughters – Danielle Strite, Brittany (Joe) Strite, and Amanda (Michael) Strite, 2 Granddaughters -Kassidy Canfield and Kensington "Kenzie" Urbati, her parents Robert "Bob" and Frances "Cookie" Grim, brother – Jan (Missie) Grim, and her many cherished nieces and nephews. She was followed in death by her sister Michele Grim.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later time.

Dale, I cannot believe this. My heart breaks, for all of you. Rest in peace Kim, and I will always have our memories of our antics, ball games, and those country Dargan days.
